Koyana Education Society, Patan was established on 8th December 1967 by a dedicated group of social workers including Hon. Dr. Sopanrao Chavan, Late Shri. Dadasaheb Pawar, Hon. Udaysinh Patankar, Hon. Bhagawatrao Desai, Hon. K. V. (Bapu) Patil, Hon. Anantrao Desai, Hon. Yusufbhai Shaikh, and Advocate Shripatrao Molawade. Through the sincere efforts of these prominent personalities, the Society came into existence with a vision to provide quality education to the people of Patan and the surrounding region.
The architect of Patan Tehsil, founder of Asia’s biggest windmill project and former Cabinet Minister of Public Works and Tourism, Hon. Vikramsinh Patankar, along with the erstwhile Chief Minister, Hon. Sharad Pawar Saheb, extended valuable support in the development and growth of the Society.
In 2019, the institution proudly celebrated its Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years of service in education. Its success is the result of the dedicated leadership of Dr. Sopanrao Chavan, President, Hon. Shrimant Amarsinh Patankar, General Secretary, and other office bearers of KES, Patan. Today, the institution runs 01 Primary School, 20 Secondary Schools, 06 Junior Colleges, 02 Senior Colleges, 01 Industrial Training Institute, and 01 Printing Press. Nearly 17,000 students and 650 staff members, including teachers and non-teaching employees, are part of this vibrant academic family.
To meet the challenges of the 21st century, KES is committed to maintaining excellence, innovation, and efficient administration without compromising on quality. Young and visionary leaders such as Hon. Yadnsen Patankar and Hon. Sanjeev Chavan have introduced new initiatives like The Koyana Pattern for 11th–12th students and the Competitive Examination Center, ensuring holistic development and academic success.
